6 Feb 07, 05:19 PM longboom: Maybulk dropped more than 10c. Good to accumulate now as I expect a higher dividiend distribution for FY 06.Recenty, in an interview with the Star, the management mentioned that it would distribute dividend at an increasing rate each year. FYI, FY2004 12c, FY 2005 17c, FY 2006: expect to be at least 20c per share. |
6 Feb 07, 05:09 PM longboom: Interestingly, Parkson HK trading volume has been high lately, either close to or exceeds its 3-month average. Perhaps something is brewing in Parkson HK. |
6 Feb 07, 05:04 PM longboom: If I am not mistaken, in the past, every huge disposal made by William Cheng would result in big rise weeks later. |
6 Feb 07, 05:03 PM Smurf: MULPHA-WA is coming..... |
6 Feb 07, 05:01 PM longboom: Of particular, conversion of loan stock to shares and disposal made by William Cheng and his nephew. It did rattle the market a bit, I would say as the market sentiment has been good during this bull-run. |
6 Feb 07, 05:00 PM Smurf: AFFIN-WC and INSAS-WA UP UP AND AWAY!!! |
6 Feb 07, 05:00 PM Seng: E.g. in HLEbroking, it was reported on 24 Jan 07 - Tan Sri Cheng disposed 10.9M, acquired 10.9M at same price, same date. Because of various indirect interests (by Datuk Cheng, Lion Realty, Lion Development) in Narajaya, it seems to get reported as separate disposal, but it seems to me that Narajaya just disposed 10.9M to Tan Sri Cheng who bought 10.9M, but Tan Sri Cheng owns Narajaya, so, that day looked more like transferring 10.9M from left hand to right hand? |
6 Feb 07, 04:55 PM Seng: Did top management disposed their shares, or just transferred from the left hand to the right hand? I haven't really looked at it that closely, but it looks like they did it twice in a major way, once in Dec, once in Jan, and it seems to rattle the market. |
6 Feb 07, 04:46 PM longboom: For the rebound, at least it is rebounding currently. Parkson HK is very strong and resilent at above HKD40 per share. I am doubtful on the changes in shareholdings of LIONDIV. It is somewhat erratic but looks like the market has absorbed the liquidation by its top management quite well. |
6 Feb 07, 04:44 PM Seng: Actually, I noticed the number of LIONDIV shares increased a little last week, as a result of Datuk Cheng converting his loan stock into shares. I wonder if that, together with his appointment led to LIONDIV share price falling from $6.5 to $5.75, since technically, the number of outstanding shares increased only by very little, and the number of loan stock is actually disclosed in the Annual Report (i.e. shouldn't be a surprised to a fundamental investor) ... luckily I sold some at $6.4 (not highest), and bought some back at $5.8 (not lowest), and enough to make some pocket money to go out for dinner, movies, and a bit more ... |
6 Feb 07, 04:40 PM Seng: Do you mean watch for the rebound, or something else? |
6 Feb 07, 04:36 PM Seng: Hi longboom, yes, something seems to be happening to LIONDIV. Share price fell around the news that Datuk Cheng was made MD last Friday, but rebounded a little. |
6 Feb 07, 04:22 PM Seng: I wonder if COMMERZ deserves such a rich valuation ... any comments? |
6 Feb 07, 04:21 PM Seng: Hi beginner. Yes, banking stocks are flying, led mainly by COMMERZ. It's interesting to compare this with PBBANK. I note at $10, COMMERZ is now capitalized at $32B (with 9M PAT of $1.1B), whereas PBBANK is capitalized at $31B (with 12M PAT of $1.7B). |
6 Feb 07, 03:56 PM longboom: watch out for LIONDIV |
6 Feb 07, 03:39 PM beginner: banking stock flying |
6 Feb 07, 03:15 PM Seng: Anybody care to share their recent buys or sale? |
6 Feb 07, 03:13 PM Seng: Wow, the CI is up +11.27, but losers outnumbers winners by 10 to 7 ... COMMERZ is now past $10 ... |
6 Feb 07, 02:57 PM Seng: And just now, bought SMRTech at 35 sen as a punt ... hope you are right kiddy! |
6 Feb 07, 02:48 PM Seng: Sorry, I blur already from reading too many reports ... I bought CYMAO at $1.59-58 this morning, not $1.57-58 |
6 Feb 07, 02:45 PM beginner: camerlin..this one not bad |
6 Feb 07, 02:25 PM Seng: Hi kiddy ... Actually, I can't be sure which is my best buy at the moment, but this morning, I decided to add to my CYMAO position at $1.57-58, after disposing some earlier (to rebalance) at $1.76-$1.84. Not sure if CYMAO has found bottom yet, but fundamentally, I like this stock at this price, since it's cheap, trading at P/E of 4, for a growth company. It's net DY is also not bad, at 6.3%. It has low debt, and expanding its capacity. I think plywood prices still have good prospects in 2007, but if I'm wrong and margins halved, a P/E of 8 is still very acceptable to me. |
6 Feb 07, 12:22 PM kiddy: Seng, What is your best buy now, please? Thanks. Mine is SMR Tech at 35 sen. |
6 Feb 07, 10:41 AM Seng: It seems Mr Market is now changing its mind about LKT from yesterday ... a very volatile stock indeed ... |
6 Feb 07, 10:40 AM Seng: Good morning all ... |
6 Feb 07, 09:44 AM Smurf: INSAS and its warrant is heading north....worth buying?....you decide...a good company though |
6 Feb 07, 09:40 AM kiddy: Is Dominan is moving? |
6 Feb 07, 09:24 AM Smurf: Don't buy MISC-CB...it's way over priced and there are better CWs to buy...eg. TENAGA, MAXIS, PLUS... |
6 Feb 07, 09:16 AM 318: MISC is catching up.. any other blue chip not run yet? |
5 Feb 07, 11:52 PM dylan: MISC-CB , moving weirdly.. ratio 2. ex price 9.15 |
5 Feb 07, 11:17 PM dylan: kiddy: TAANN: ACQUISITION OF 100% SHARE IN BORLIN SDN. BHD. |
5 Feb 07, 10:38 PM dylan: any comment on YTLE so many interest on this one? it hardly move. |
5 Feb 07, 10:34 PM dylan: NIK : VS declares 1-for-20 share dividend |
5 Feb 07, 09:17 PM kiddy: Granflo (Mesdap counter) expects a 50% growth in revenue for the financial year ending 31 December 2007 due mainly to the full year revenue contribution from its recently acquired subsidiaries, Spritvest Sdn Bhd and Data Centrix Sdn Bhd. |
5 Feb 07, 09:15 PM kiddy: Ta Ann .. Latest 4th Qtr 2007 eps = 24 sen up 242% yoy from 7 sen. |
5 Feb 07, 09:05 PM kiddy: longboom, thanks very much for your link on MQ Tech. I see, SBB Securities S.B. had a buy call on MQTech with a 12-month target price of 36 sen. |
5 Feb 07, 08:51 PM longboom: PETDAG: 8.8x, MAYBULK:8.3x |
5 Feb 07, 08:49 PM longboom: oppss.......in terms of PE |
5 Feb 07, 08:46 PM junior: longboom, what makes u say PETDAG and MAYBUlK are cheapest? |
5 Feb 07, 08:41 PM longboom: PETDAG and MAYBULK are the cheapest stocks in KLCI. |
5 Feb 07, 08:35 PM longboom: http://iht.com/articles/2007/02/04/bloomberg/sxpesek.php?page=1 Irrational Exuberance? |
5 Feb 07, 08:24 PM longboom: http://iht.com/articles/2007/02/04/bloomberg/bxstock.php Palm oil still good? |
5 Feb 07, 08:19 PM longboom: Seng, sorry. I have been away in the past few days. Re: Copper Outlook, I believe it's still okay, if not spectacular. The thing that concerns me on TAWIN is its management. Heard that the management lacks corporate governance, as you may have witnessed few months ago. I suspect, the rumour of being a takeover target might have created merely to boost its appeal to investors or punters. I want to shift to other copper player,ie. METROD, looks good but there is execution risk to its overseas expansion. And financing costs have increased tremendously on higher borrowings to finance its expansion. |
5 Feb 07, 08:04 PM longboom: http://www.sbbsec.com.my/images/specialReport/MQTech-050207.PDF kiddy, for you |
5 Feb 07, 06:43 PM kiddy: History have shown that the year leading to elections will have a strong positive bias on markets and projects. |
5 Feb 07, 06:25 PM kiddy: SMR HR Technologies Sdn Bhd (SMRHRT), a Multimedia Super Corridor-status company, has been ranked second on the prestigious Enterprise 50 list for the year 2005 on its first attempt. For further details on its business, please click here : http://www.btimes.com.my/Current_News/BT/bkdaymonday/Enterprise%2050/b0050902185120/Article |
5 Feb 07, 06:20 PM kiddy: This means that the market is valuing SMR Technologies' business and its growth potential at only 4.6 times its annualised net profit of RM6 million in 2006, says a fund manager. 5 Feb 07, 06:10 PM Seng: BigCroc, your last 2 observations (irrational crowd, bullish market) is very true, but I'm not sure it's entirely due to luck either ... |
5 Feb 07, 05:39 PM BigCroc: VS declares a Share Dividend by way of distribution of One (1) Treasury Share for every Twenty (20) existing ordinary shares |
5 Feb 07, 05:23 PM BigCroc: BTW, now the mkt is bullish, so my punts work. When mkt turn bearish, maybe I'll be the one suffering the most |
5 Feb 07, 05:21 PM BigCroc: The crowd in the mkt is not so rational. So I speculated that my punt at AIRASIA-CA would work, and luckily it works. |
5 Feb 07, 05:16 PM BigCroc: Seng, the AIRASIA is the biggest punt I have ever made. I agreed it does not seem to make sense to expect it to surges > RM2 at this stage. |
5 Feb 07, 05:14 PM BigCroc: I was and still bullish on CPO counters, but again for the misunderstanding of cash-settled CW, I dare not hold KLK-CA when it was traded at 60+c. Now it's already 95.5c. But luckily I pick some at 82c. |
5 Feb 07, 05:12 PM Seng: Err BigCroc, that's where I might disagree with you ... to me, AIRASIA-CA, even at 30c implies a target price of $2.26 by Oct 2007, and that's where I have serious doubts whether AIRASIA could actually do this, based on what I know about the coy's history and its current position. That's why I don't have the confidence to punt on AIRASIA-CA. But it doesn't mean monies can't be made before expiry, as you've proved it! |
5 Feb 07, 05:09 PM Seng: Interesting point Smurf ... I think if you're young, and can save a lot of monies in future, then, there's absolutely no risk at all to do what you're suggesting, which is to make the most return in the shortest time possible. However, for a retiree like me, I cannot afford to take the same risks like you ... but certainly, if I was in a different position then, I would encourage taking risks, since the downside is low, and any lessons learnt will be useful for the rest of your life. |
5 Feb 07, 05:08 PM BigCroc: But because I MISunderstood cash-settled CW, I had to sell them earlier to avoid mass-dumping when near expiry date. |
5 Feb 07, 05:07 PM BigCroc: Seng, I believed TENAGA/MAXIS/RESORTS/RHBCAP/KLK will report better result and surge to a price in which its CW is no longer a premium by then. But because I understood cash-settled CW, I had to sell them earlier to avoid mass-dumping when near expiry date |
5 Feb 07, 05:03 PM Seng: Or to be more accurate, intellectually, I know how, except, emotionally, I think I would be extremely nervous holding something priced so "expensive" (+50% premium) ... and might not sleep well |
5 Feb 07, 05:02 PM BigCroc: I initially thought all CWs require conversion to mother share and its holder is going to dump when near expiry date |
5 Feb 07, 05:01 PM Seng: Man, I must say you have lots of guts BigCroc. If I recalled correctly, AIRASIA-CA was trading at 50%+ premium even at $0.31 - you sure know how to sell to the next person at an even higher price ... |
5 Feb 07, 04:59 PM Smurf: Just wanna share my view....it doesn't really matter if its punting, trading or investing...as long as it makes money and get meximum return in the shortest time possible it's a brilliant job...what do you guys think? |
5 Feb 07, 04:59 PM BigCroc: if I realise that earlier, I would have kept my TENAGA-CC at 66c. ooh man. what a loss |
5 Feb 07, 04:57 PM BigCroc: I just realised recently that cash-settled CWs do not require its holder to convert to mother share after expire date. So it's okay to punt if the mother share is predicted to move up. |
5 Feb 07, 04:53 PM Seng: Well done BigCroc! hahaha, yes, maybe we should move "downstairs" |
5 Feb 07, 04:52 PM GoldmanJr: BigCroc : yeah! Haha |
5 Feb 07, 04:50 PM BigCroc: After investssmart ceases blogging, we are becoming punter slowly, hahaha |
5 Feb 07, 04:48 PM BigCroc: i picked up AIRASIA-CA at 31c, sold at 36.5c. It's a risky move, but I'm expecting good news eventually will move. |
5 Feb 07, 04:48 PM Seng: Hopefully, we might have a sale in the next few days ... |
5 Feb 07, 04:47 PM Seng: Somebody is dumping LIONDIV in a big way ... |
5 Feb 07, 04:45 PM Seng: Did you pick up AIRASIA last Friday? I was too greedy, and queued at $1.40, and didn't get it of course ... |
5 Feb 07, 04:44 PM Seng: Hi BigCroc ... actually, not exactly sure when but last year, AIRASIA announced on 24/2, so, I guess similar time this month ... saw your earlier posting, just curious, how did you know DIGI will announce on 14/2, BAT on 15/2, etc.? |
5 Feb 07, 04:31 PM BigCroc: Seng, something seems brewing at AIRASIA, mother and warrants are surging. Do you know when AIRASIA announce its next qtrly result? |
5 Feb 07, 03:54 PM Guan: Seng. At the moment I'am holding quite a lot of Gtronic counters. Thinking of swaping to other counter. LKT has lower pe compare with Gtronic. With the drastic drop on LKT share, I'am thinking of swaping Gtronic to LKT. |
5 Feb 07, 03:44 PM Seng: Looks like Mr Market is now optimistic on AIRASIA today, after being pessimistic last week ... |
5 Feb 07, 03:43 PM Seng: Guan, at the moment, I hold a small amount of LKT, despite entering twice. This is because, I find it hard to predict LKT's future earnings (I have no expertise in semi-con industry), and so, the stock is to me "speculative". Mind if I ask you - I'm just curious - how you got interested in LKT, and why. |
5 Feb 07, 03:32 PM Seng: Parkson $41.6 (steady).... LIONDIV $5.8 (on sale soon? still downtrend ...) |
5 Feb 07, 03:23 PM Guan: Hi Seng. I will monitor the LKT closely. Pls inform us once you enter LKT. |
5 Feb 07, 03:06 PM Seng: Re LKT, I've made a technical error - the 220k shares sold by Loh Kee Lin represents 5.5% of his holdings (not 1%). Combined, the Loh brothers hold around 20M shares, so, 220k is 1% of that, i.e. last Friday's disposal is small. |
5 Feb 07, 02:51 PM Seng: HI Guan. Re LKT, not sure if you had the chance to read what I wrote below. There were also additional discussions on LKT last Friday which might interest you. |
5 Feb 07, 02:47 PM Seng: wk, looks like BJTOTO "outperformed" ORIENT today! Just goes to show that despite my personal feel that ORIENT is better (from a potential upside perspective), BJTOTO proved me wrong, which just goes to show that I have no way of telling which stock will go up first (and hence I own both!) |
